How Artistic Eats Came To Be
We are a family owned and operated business. It's Mom and Pop and Daughter and Husband...and we couldn't be more thrilled to be doing this. We are passionate about food and about enjoying life around a table of great food! We couldn't think of a better way to inspire families to come together than to provide them with new, artistic ways to enjoy food with more color, more flavor, and more variety. We know it gets boring eating plain pasta- and when we tried Pappardelle's- we were hooked!
We took a trip out to Seattle in November- and as Market lovers- we decided to stop by the famous Pike Place Market. Well- we were absolutely drawn in to the Pappardelles Stand there- they had hundreds of boxes full of bright pasta! We had to try some. It was fantastic- and we wanted to share it with all of you.
That night- we put our heads together and started figuring out how we could make this possible across the country. We were lucky enough to have found a wonderful group of people in Colorado who shared our same passion for artistic food and for pasta-- that group is Pappardelle's! They were thrilled to share their history with us- a small family owned company selling to vendors who will bring their products to local farmers markets- and encourage local people to utilize their own locally grown produce along with our pasta! We didn’t know the prestige of the product or the wonderful things it could do for families, farmers, and markets throughout New York- but we hoped we could make a small difference.
Not only is the pasta fantastic, but it is hand-made by a small “mom and pop” business- with only 5 people on staff- they choose select people from across the United States to package and sell their pasta at local farmer’s markets and festivals. Based out of Denver, CO they are the ONLY company in the US that makes pasta by hand in the traditional, authentic way using all natural ingredients as well as a process that exceeds all other pasta operations. It is as close to making pasta at home by hand as possible. Dough is always made in small batches and always kneaded by hand. The hope of Pappardelle’s is to share this unique and nutritious product only through farmer’s markets and select festivals. We directly support farmers and other food vendors by encouraging the utilization of local foods. We provide customers with recipes for every different kind of pasta so that customers will leave with a new, innovative idea for how to utilize their pasta with local pairings. This includes locally produced foods and wines. We want to support what is going on at local venues by further supporting other vendors through offering them the opportunity to get a full meal alongside trying delicious wines and foods.
Pappardelle's is an innovative company that has over 100 kinds of pasta available. Some examples are: Basil Garlic Fettuccine, Dark Chocolate Linguine, Sweet Potato Pappardelle, Venetian Calamari Linguine, Southwest Orzo- and many more. All the pastas are brightly colored (only by natural ingredients- never food coloring) and full of taste! We also offer low carb and gluten- free pasta. We stand by the quality of the product. Because this is such a small company batches are made to order for us fresh. The pasta is extruded on the highest quality equipment directly from Italy- bronze dies that give pasta a very unique texture- unlike almost all other pasta companies. This is why it is close to impossible to do locally, and also why no one is doing it. The expense of the quality and equipment is too much for most companies to handle- as well as the capability of keeping up with the demand for product as well as go out and sell it. This is why Pappardelle’s has been successful in the Farmer’s Market program- they only sell to select people and we are the only vendors in New York State.
From there- it all has fallen in to place. We would not be where we are without the constant support and friendship of our wonderful customers. We are so thankful for all the wonderful people we have met and thank you for helping us to continue and grow. We try to make every customer feel at home with us and customer service is our number 1 priority. Mom and Dad will be at the Syracuse Market every single Saturday through December and Mike and Jess will be at the Rochester Markets. We look forward to another year of success and wish you all a healthy, happy, and delicious Summer!
